Mittelstadt had been making some serious strides in the offenseive department until Housley's offensive move set him back for a game. The good news concerning Eichel's suspension is that Housley won't be able to pull of a dumb move like that as Mittelstadt is needed at center.

Eichel took the hit frim Zadorov like a champ. Soderburgh ducked like a chump.

Unfortunate result, suspension adequate.

Sometimes taking the hit is the best choice.

Eichel is a dude. McDerpid had the same suspension for the same type of hit.

3) Fire Housley at the end of the season.

I never thought the Sabres were a playoff team this year. I thought 88 to 92 point range. At the rate they are going, they will be lucky to get to 82 points. Disappointing. Winter is coming (again) in Buffalo.

I'm surprised by PHam said notwithstanding his marginal goal scoring the Sabres really miss Marcus Foligno because he was a guy who played "hard hockey" and could actually play the game, too, and he's the kind of guy they need to get back into the lineup.

1) Nylander seizes the moment
2) Housley gives him the opportunity to seize the moment

If #2 doesn't happen and Nylander is stuck with Sobotka and Girgs as linemates, the writing is on the wall for him.
